Our first official studio release as Heart Shaped Lakes!! This double EP is split into two acts, Act I: A Violent Dream, and Act II: The Scenic Route. The first act focuses on anger, rage, revenge, and overall unresolved hurting. Pulling from influences such as Underoath, From First To Last, and Senses Fail, this act is quite a new direction us sonically. The second act focuses more on recovery, trying to move on from painful situations, and looking forward with a different mindset. In stark contrast to the first act, the second act hearkens back to our previous material inspired by the Drive-Thru Records era of pop punk and alternative rock. Overall this project was extremely cathartic to write and to record. The recording process was not easy though. Major lineup changes, life changes, mental and physical health issues plagued the process from the beginning, but we made it through a better unit than we were going into it. We can't wait for you to embark on this journey with us!
